Dr. Carla Susana A Assuad

Dr. Carla Assuad is the leader of the CIRMAN project and currently works at the department for manufacturing and civil engineering at NTNU, Norway.
Her research is focused on the use of simulation tools and data analysis to support decision-making related to sustainable development issues. Her recent research topic is the use of digital technologies to enable the transition to circular manufacturing. In addition, she teaches simulation and manufacturing systems in the Master's program on Sustainable Manufacturing MSUMA.
Dr. Assuad holds a bachelor’s degree in management engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a Master Phil in System Dynamics from the University of Bergen, Norway, and a Ph.D. in Sustainability Studies from the University of Adger, Norway.

Dr. Håkon Raabe

Håkon Raabe holds a Ph.D. from NTNU, Industrial Economics and Technology Management and a M.Sc. from NHH – The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
He is currently Vice President Projects at SINTEF Manufacturing, Ålesund, Norway, typically managing applied research projects within sustainable manufacturing and technology development. He has a strong interest in the business side of technology development, sustainable business models and circular manufacturing. He is involved in several SINTEF group strategic activities, among them the steering committee for the SINTEF Research Area on Batteries. He also has board experience from multiple companies in diverse sectors, as well as business consulting within manufacturing strategy, supply chain management and technology development.

Dr. Halvor Holtskog

Professor Halvor Holtskog is the research group leader of two research centers, Secure Industrial Innovation in Complex Organizations (SIICO) and Gemini center of Human Centered Manufacturing (GS HCM).
His research is focused on innovations in complex organizations, where the technological innovations play a major role in the organizational change. His recent research includes how blockchain technology contribute to sustainability, how cyber security awareness change the fundamental of organizational design and leadership, and how organizational skills must change for accommodating digitalization and sustainability.
Professor Halvor Holtskog holds a master’s degree in business from Norwegian Business School and a PhD in Product Development Process from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He also has an extensive experience from top leader positions in large companies in Europe.

Kristian Martinsen is a researcher for SINTEF Manufacturing and a professor at the NTNU and in Norway. He holds a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from 1995 at NTNU. He was granted a STA post-doc scholarship in Japan and stayed one year at AIST in Tsukuba. He was granted a 3 months guest-researcher scholarship in 2009, and was a visiting professor at Waseda in 3 months in 2019. His main research topics are Manufacturing Engineering, Sustainable Manufacturing, Manufacturing Process Monitoring and Control, Metal Cutting, Measuring Technology and Tolerance engineering.

Dr. Mitsutaka Matsumoto

Dr. Mitsutaka Matsumoto is the group leader of the Remanufacturing Research Group at Advanced Manufacturing Research Institute (AMRI) of the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan.
His research is focused on product lifecycle engineering and remanufacturing. His recent research topics include operations research for remanufacturing, market acceptance analysis of remanufactured products, environmental impact analysis of remanufacturing, and application of additive manufacturing to remanufacturing.
Dr. Matsumoto holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in electrical engineering from Kyoto University and a PhD in decision science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan.

Nina Tvenge

Nina Tvenge is doing her research and development on interdisciplinary teamwork skills at NTNU, Norwegian University of Science and Technology. Her main knowledge is on teaching and learning in virtual environments, with focus on how to optimize the use of digital tools in a learning perspective. She has also experience from working with manufacturing industry and education and in a lifelong learning perspective. Using learning factories as simulators to train students and others in aspects of manufacturing, like material science, idea development, data-assisted design, product- and concept development, universal design, and production methods. Currently She is very interested in what the driving forces for industry, academia and students are in regard to exploiting the creative potential that exists in collaboration between all levels of parties in a circular manufacturing.
Dr. Shinichi Fukushige

Dr. Shinichi Fukushige is a professor in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University. After obtaining his doctor’s degree in precision machinery engineering from the University of Tokyo in 2006, he began work at Osaka University as an assistant professor. Since 2014, he served as an associate professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University before moving to Waseda University in 2020.
His current research interests include product life cycle design and management, simulation of circular economy, environmentally conscious product and service design, and circular business design.

Dr. Suryakumar. S

Dr. Suryakumar is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at IIT Hyderabad.
His current research interests include Additive Manufacturing of Metallic Objects, particularly large sized; Design for Additive Manufacturing; Circular Manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
Beyond the current focus on Additive Manufacturing, he shares a broad passion for manufacturing/ fabrication domain and is currently the Dean - Innovation, Translation & Startups at IIT Hyderabad.
He is the recipient of Excellence in Teaching award by the Institute for the year 2013 and Excellent in Research award for the year 2020.

Dr. Shozo Takata

Shozo Takata graduated from the University of Tokyo and received his doctoral degree in engineering in the Department of Precision Machinery Engineering at the University of Tokyo in 1978. He worked at Toyo University and Osaka University before moving to Waseda University in 1992, where he was a professor at Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, School of Creative Science and Engineering until 2020.
His research interests are in life cycle engineering for realization of circular manufacturing. He focuses on reuse and recycling management, life cycle maintenance management, and environmentally benign manufacturing business design. He has also worked on a life cycle simulation system, which models the processes of the circular manufacturing and simulates the flow of products, parts, and material to evaluate the resource consumption, environmental load, and life cycle cost for satisfying a certain group of users during a certain period of time.
He is active in various engineering societies, such as JSPE (the Japan Society for Precision Engineering), JSME (the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers) and CIRP (International Academy of Production Engineering), where he served as an editorial committee member and a council member

Dr Tomomi Kito

Dr Tomomi Kito is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University. She received her PhD in engineering from the University of Tokyo and worked at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, UK, University of Tsukuba and University of Tokyo, prior to joining Waseda University.
Her research interests cover a variety of topics, such as supply chains, circular economy, innovation ecosystems, corporate strategy dynamics, teamwork and leadership, technology forecasting, and so on. Her professional skills include big data analytics, network analysis and modelling, language processing and agent-based simulation.
